The Company

James H. Washington, President - James H. Washington founded Washington InsuranceAgency, Inc. (WIA) in 1971. He attended Savannah State College in Savannah, Georgia, and Fenn College in Cleveland, Ohio. His 36-year insurance career began as an agent where, for five years, he was named "Agent of the Year" in recognition of his outstanding sales. Mr. Washington was also associated with other insurance companies where he received numerous awards during his career.

Mr. Washington is a member of the prestigious Life Underwriter's Club and a recipient of the National Quality Award for Distinguished Performance. He is also a member of the Professional Insurance Agents Association. He has been an executive board member of the Governor's Advisory Committee Association of Ohio, Inc. He is licensed to write life and health, accident, and long- and short-term disability.

Starla A. McCollum, CPIA, Vice President and Director of Sales - Before Joining Washington Insurance Agency, Inc., Ms. McCollum's positions included Personal Lines Underwriter, Claims Supervisor for Multi-Lines Casualty Programs, and developing new startup agencies for exclusive agents. Ms. McCollum serves as the liaison between the agency and various insurance carriers with which the agency is affiliated. She is also a member of the Professional Insurance Agents Association and the Certified Professional Insurance Agents Society. She is licensed to write life and health, accident, and long- and short-term disability.

James T. ("Todd") Washington, Special Agent - Mr. Washington is based at the Cleveland office. He is responsible for personal lines and claims, including automobile and homeowners insurance. He is also licensed to write life and health, accident, and long- and short-term disability.

Rita Alexander, Administrative Assistant Mrs. Alexander is based at the Columbus office and supports the Vice President. She utilizes her strong administrative, secretarial and managerial expertise to handle the overall office functions. She also provides general support to all WIA team members. Rita has acquired her Life and Health license.
